KEIZER, Ore. - A seventh inning double steal with two outs allowed Danny Brock to score the eventual winning run, as Salem-Keizer took Game 2 of a five games series with the Boise Hawks, 4-2, before 2,270 fans at Volcanoes Stadium.
Mike Loberg led off the decisive frame with a walk and moved to second on a Brock single. After a failed sacrifice attempt recorded the first out at third base, Kyle Mach rolled into a fielders choice for the second out, moving Brock to third. On a 1-1 pitch, S-K rolled the dice, sending Mach, when the throw went through to second, Brock scampered home, breaking a 2-2 tie.
The Hawks took an early 2-0 lead in the first on back-to-back RBI doubles from Richard Jones and Matt Szczur, but S-K came back, getting RBI singles from Brock and Carter Jurica in the second to tie the score.
Brock went 3-for-4 in the win for the Volcanoes, while Jones went 3-for-4 in the loss for the Hawks - as both teams recorded 11 hits.
NOTES - Alvaro Ramirez extended his hit streak to 13-games with a 2-for-4 effort...the Hawks added a player to their roster, as eight-round pick Cam Greathouse joined the team from the Arizona Rookie League and will make his first start of the season tomorrow, opposite Edward Concepcion.
