BOISE, Idaho - Taking advantage of ten walks, the Eugene Emeralds took the final game of a five game series against the Boise Hawks, 8-5, at Memorial Stadium.

Trailing early 2-0, the Ems tied the game in the third - scoring a run on a double play ball and another on a Jedd Gyorko single. They would take the lead an inning later, plating one on a Houston Slemp single, with Connor Powers scoring when he dislodged the ball at the plate on a tag by Micah Gibbs, the other on a Brian Guinn RBI groundout.

Down 8-2, the Hawks got RBI singles from Matt Szczur and Pierre LePage in the seventh to get within four, then an RBI single from Kyung-Min Na in the ninth to get within 8-5. They would load the bases with two outs, but Jesus Morelli grounded out to second to end the game.

Pedro Martinez got the win for the Ems, allowing just four hits in five innings, with Aaron Everett getting his first professional save. Tyler Stubblefield had two doubles and an RBI in the win.

LePage, Elliot Soto, and Chris Huseby each had two hits in the loss, while Carlos Rojas tossed three scoreless innings of relief, fanning six.

The Hawks hit the road tomorrow, starting a five-game series at Salem-Keizer.
