ABA Launches New Division
Published on July 12, 2010 under American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) www.abalive.com today announced the launch of a new division, ABA Pro Sports Marketing, www.ABAProSportsMarketing.com. The ABA Pro Sports Marketing division will spearhead all ABA branding efforts and league-related marketing initiatives to help ABA teams leverage their revenue generation. Joe Newman, ABA CEO stated, "the new division will help all our member teams increase their income and achieve profitability faster without draining individual team resources."
The new division will be headed by Roger Nevard, President and Dave Senor, Vice President, both recently appointed ABA Directors of Corporate and Market Development. Nevard said, "Dave and I both came from marketing-based and project management backgrounds and understand that establishing a global marketing infrastructure will best serve the growth and support needs the ABA envisions. Our new division will allow the ABA to add talented and focused marketing professionals in all team regions to reduce the marketing challenges each team faces as they work to bring quality professional basketball to their communities."
The ABA Pro Sports Marketing division's first goal is to recruit experienced independent regional marketing specialists who are passionate about basketball and want to own their own ABA licensed Pro Sports Marketing agencies in their areas. Each licensed agent will be set up to offer the wide variety of ABA merchandise, tickets and branded marketing initiatives for the ABA teams in their areas.
Dick Packer, ABA COO/President added, "the new marketing division will help the league create a steady and growing "pool" of revenue to share with each member team. There are two distinctly different skill-sets necessary to running a successful pro team: the basketball operations and the marketing operations. Many of our team owners need outside professional help to build their marketing revenue model to generate team profitability and we are confident that Roger and Dave and the new ABA Pro Sports Marketing division will do just that."
The new division is also seeking college interns to help support the planned marketing initiatives.
