CHL Summer Conference Begins Today

The Central Hockey League (CHL) will hold its 15th annual 'Summer Conference' beginning today (Thursday, June 3) running through Saturday, June 5. Delegates from all CHL teams, along with delegates from the International Hockey League (IHL) and their member teams, will be present and participating in the week's agenda. For the second straight year, the conference will take place at Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort and Spa in Chandler, Arizona.

The Opening Ceremonies for the 'Summer Conference' will feature a keynote address by Marshall Glickman (founder of G2 Strategic and former President of the Portland Trail Blazers) followed by a welcome reception for all delegates scheduled for Thursday evening.

For the second consecutive year, the conference will feature, Global Idol, giving delegates and guests an opportunity to show their musical ability in front of a live band. The contestants will be competing for great prizes and during the event there will be a charitable silent and live auction generating money for The Hoffen Foundation (www.hoffenfoundation.org ).

On Friday, sales staffs from the CHL will travel to Glendale to visit with the Arizona Cardinals and the Phoenix Coyotes sharing best practices and observing the operations of the NFL and NHL teams. Delegates will also participate in the JE Dunn Construction Golf Tournament during the afternoon.

The final day of the conference will feature a customer service workshop hosted by Jason Young, a former senior-level manager with Southwest Airlines and module sessions for the delegates focusing on effective communication, revenue generation and technology.

The festivities will conclude with the CHL Awards Banquet honoring the outstanding organizational and front office efforts and achievements from the 2009-10 season.
