af2's Devan Slated To Be Super Bowl Starter
Published on February 1, 2010 under arenafootball2 (af2) News Release
After spending March and April with the af2's Boise Burn, offensive lineman Kyle DeVan is primed to pen the final chapter to one of the most improbable stories in football by starting at right guard for the Indianapolis Colts in this weekend's Super Bowl.
DeVan started at center for Boise against Tri-Cities, Bossier-Shreveport, and Spokane before signing with the Colts as a free agent. He defied the odds once by surviving training camp. He defied the odds a second time by earning a starting position by mid-season. And now he's about to defy it a third time by drawing a starting assignment on one of sport's biggest stages.
The Burn suspended operations in September as the minority owners of the franchise, Block 22 LLC, sought additional investors after af2 folded and re-formed into a new league.
