
Davis Tabbed As Panthers Head Coach

ALBANY, GA (January 29, 2010) - On Friday, the Albany Panthers of the Southern Indoor Football League held their first press conference at James H. Gray Civic Center.
With over eight media outlets present, the Albany Panthers finally got to introduce themselves to a city that has been clamoring of indoor football over the past three months. At the press conference, the Panthers unveiled their new logo and revealed Lucious Davis as their head coach.
Lucious Davis brings over ten years of indoor football experience, most recently served as the Defensive Coordinator/Assistant Head Coach for the South Georgia Wildcats. Davis was previously the Defensive Backs coach for the AFL Las Vegas Gladiators, Defensive Coordinator for AF2 Tulsa Talons and Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator for the AF2 Mahoning Valley Thunder.
In the early goings as the organization was going through an ownership change, Lucious was already serving as the Head Coach for the Panthers. Now with Rod Chappell serving as the owner, things are finally official for Davis.
"Lucious brings over ten years of football experience to our club," says Albany Panthers General Manager Will Carter. "With his experience of working around this area and the fact he had been working so hard early on by himself, we felt he was the right man for the job."
"The reception we received today was outstanding," continues Panthers GM Will Carter. "Fans just really want to see us play football again as this truly is one of the greatest football cities' around."
The Panthers will now begin working on forming tryouts as well as sign a number of players to fill the roster. The club now can be visited on the web by logging on to www.albanypanthers.net. Fans can soon begin applying for season tickets within the next week.
"You can expect to see some new faces suit up for the Panthers, to go along with some old ones too," said Carter. "There has been a winning tradition in this town, so our fans our expecting us to carry on that tradition, no matter the name."
