California Redwoods quarterback Shane Boyd, Las Vegas Locomotives corner back
Wale Dada and Florida Tuskers safety Willie Andrews were named the OurSports Central
United Football League Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week,
respectively, for week seven of the UFL season.Boyd completed 23 of 35 passes for 287 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in the Redwoods' 34-27 loss to the Florida Tuskers. Boyd played college football at Kentucky and competed in NFL Europe with the Cologne Centurions in 2006. He also spent time on the practice squad of several NFL teams including the Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans.
Dada intercepted two throws and had one total tackle in the Locos' 41-7 victory over the New York Sentinels. He played for NFL Europe's Rhein Fire in 2007 and played in three games for the CFL Edmonton Eskimos in 2008.
Andrews returned two punts for 84 yards, one of them for 70 yards, and returned four kickoffs for 84 yards in the Tuskers' 34-27 victory over the Redwoods. Andrews played two seasons in the NFL with the New England Patriots in 2006 & 2007.
