Wichita Falls Wildcats News Release

Following Aaron Quick's early-season commitment to Air Force, the Wildcats are pleased to announce that defenseman Zach Ledford will be playing next season for the Falcons of Bentley University in Waltham, MA.

Ledford has appeared in eight games since being acquired from the Wenatchee Wild in a September trade. The nineteen year old blueliner has scored two goals for the Wildcats.

"They're one of the top five business schools in the country," Ledford said of Bentley. "It's what I want to do after my hockey career is over."

Zach is the third Wildcat to attend the college. Former Wildcats forward Brett Hartung currently plays for the Falcons, while Sean Nealon also played for the Falcons in 2007-08.

"They have a pretty good team there," Zach said. "They compete well every year against some tough competition."

Wildcats head coach John Bowkus was enthusiastic about having Ledford move on to the collegiate levels as well. "We are very excited that Zach has committed to Bentley," he said. "In only a short time with our team, he brings energy and enthusiasm on and off the ice for our entire organization."

Zach will be facing several former Wildcats often in the Atlantic Hockey conference. Next year's Air Force team will feature the aforementioned Quick and former Wildcat Kyle Delaurell, while American International College features Dan Ramirez in goal.
