Carfagna Family Returns to JetHawks Ownership

(LANCASTER, CA) - The Lancaster JetHawks are proud to announce that, effective October 1, 2009, Peter A. Carfagna and family have returned as majority and controlling owners of the club. Peter, along with his sons, Senior Vice President Peter E. Carfagna and Controller Michael J. Carfagna, will work with an experienced JetHawks front-office staff that will be entering its third season together. Carfagna has promoted Larry Thornhill, a 25-year resident of the Antelope Valley, to Vice-President and General Manager of the club. The Carfagna's, together with the JetHawks' staff, eagerly look forward to building on a proud tradition and to celebrating the JetHawks' 15th anniversary season in 2010.

"Under the direction of Larry Thornhill, the JetHawks had one of the biggest attendance gains in all of baseball last season," says Peter Carfagna. "We heard tremendous comments from fans about the entertainment and atmosphere at the ballpark and we will be continuing and building on those trends. With the entire front office staff returning for its third season together, the continuity will be a positive. Our collective goal is to provide fan-friendly entertainment in a positive and safe environment that the community can be proud of. We sincerely look forward to continuing the tradition of Lancaster JetHawks baseball and to celebrating the club's 15th anniversary in the Antelope Valley."

In his new role as Vice-President and General Manager, Thornhill will lead a front office that retains the full staff for the third straight season.

"This group of staff members has worked incredibly hard over the past few seasons and more than 150,000 fans this year saw the results and were the result of that effort," says Thornhill. "I am very excited to continue the work all of us started as a team together last season. I always enjoyed working with the Carfagnas and look forward to working with them as we celebrate the 15th anniversary of JetHawks Baseball in Lancaster. We have many new and exciting things to introduce in 2010 and all of us look forward to opening night April 12."

The JetHawks celebration of its 15th anniversary begins Thursday, April 8 when the team opens the season on the road at Bakersfield. The home opener will take place Monday, April 12th when the JetHawks host Lake Elsinore at the Hangar. Season ticket plans, mini-plans, and group events are already selling fast.
