United Football League Announces Officiating Staff

October 6, 2009 - United Football League (UFL 1) News Release


JACKSONVILLE, FL (October 5, 2009) - With less than a week until kick-off, the United Football League formally announced its roster of Game Officials today. This diverse group, comprised of 28 men and one woman, bring plenty of knowledge and experience to the field having officiated games in NFL Europe, the Arena Football Leagues and major college and bowl games.

The UFL has made some slight game enhancements and the Officiating Crew is well-versed on the rules of the UFL game. In addition, the UFL is proud to introduce the first female official to work a professional football game. Terri Valenti, no. 37 from Palo Alto, will take her place as a Heads Linesman (or Lineswoman) on the field. She is one of a growing number of women involved in football officiating.

The UFL Game Staff will be led by three crew chiefs: Randy Christal, no. 12 from Austin, Texas; Jon Bible, no. 10 from Austin, Texas; and Dave Cutaia, no. 34 from Benecia, California.

The UFL's first game on October 8th will be broadcast on VERSUS at 9:00 pm ET. On Saturday, October 10th, the Florida Tuskers will host the New York Sentinels at the Citrus Bowl.
