Lancaster JetHawks News Release
(STOCKTON, CA) - The Lancaster bullpen gave the JetHawks a chance to rally Monday night, but six early runs for Stockton proved to be just enough as the Ports held on for a 6-5 win, Stockton's second straight win over Lancaster in the series.
The Ports offense came out early against Lancaster starter Bryan Hallberg. They notched three runs in the second inning and three runs in the third for their only offense of the day. Shane Wolf came out of the bullpen and pitched a perfect two and 1/3 innings. Fernando Abad added two shutout innings to give the JetHawks a chance to bounce back.
They had held the lead briefly in the third inning thanks to a four-run frame that opened with a Craig Corrado single. After the first out of the inning, Marcos Cabral doubled, Jon Gaston singled, and T.J. Steele hit home runs to put Lancaster up 4-3. After falling behind the offense stayed quiet until Fixler homered in the eighth to make it a one run game. Craig Corrado dropped a bunt single and got to second base in the eighth inning, but the JetHawks were unable to push them around.
