Savannah Prowl Announce Open Tryouts
May 22, 2009 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
Savannah, GA. The ABA Savannah PROWL today announced its first tryout camp scheduled for Saturday, June 27th and Sunday June 28th to be held at the Wellness Center on the beautiful campus of Clayton State University in Morrow, GA. Registration will begin Saturday at 1030am with the tryouts starting promptly at 12noon.
Along with athletic ability and skill, players will be observed in a number of areas. Players are required to bring business casual wear (slacks and a polo shirt) and be prepared to interview just as they would for any career opportunity. "We are excited about the opportunity that we are prepared to extend to athletes that meet our criteria," stated team owner Levi Williams. "We are confident that there is enough talent in the area and surrounding areas that we can build a very competitive team that will compete for an ABA Championship in our inaugural season."
Select players from the tryout will be invited to Training Camp in late October to compete for 12 contracted player spots. This is the opportunity of a lifetime and you owe it to yourself to test your ability against some of the best players in Georgia and surrounding states.
Additionally, there will be a licensed sports agent on-site to evaluate players and potentially sign players to represent them. The Tryout Registration form and Waiver can be obtained by visiting www.prowlbasketball.com. The cost of the tryout is $100 prior to June 20th. After this date, the tryout fee will be $125 and at the door, the fee will be $150. Register early to avoid late registration fees.
Players are to bring shorts and shirts to the event. An Official Savannah PROWL tryout camp T-shirt will be provided and all games will be filmed and available for purchase afterwards ($3 per copy). Lunch will be provided. For more information, contact Edward Taylor at Edward.taylor@prowlbasketball.com or call 678 237 6575 or visit www.prowlbasketball.com or www.abalive.com.
