OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK Stanley Jackson, Marion Mayhem
The former Ohio State signal caller returned from injury to lead his Marion Mayhem to a come-from-behind victory over Wheeling on Saturday night. Jackson, who is also part of the Mayhem ownership group, keyed Marion to a 61-57 victory over Wheeling at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.
The Mayhem QB, who was knocked out of action in the last meeting between Marion and Wheeling, completed 17 of his 22 pass attempts on the night. He tallied 181 yards and five touchdowns through the air and also picked up 33 yards on two carries. His five-yard scoring strike to Ian Schmidt with eight seconds remaining completed the comeback for the Mayhem.
SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK Mike Tatum, Marion Mayhem
Tatum?s exploits in the special teams department helped Marion bounce back from a loss on Saturday night. The Mayhem captured a 61-57 comeback win over Wheeling at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.
Tatum racked up 149 all-purpose yards, including 118 kick return yards, during the Mayhem victory. He also provided one of the game?s most exciting plays when he slid through a pack of five defenders at the goal line and rumbled 50 yards for a kick-return touchdown with 8:18 left in the first half. His 31-yard missed field goal return at the end of the first quarter set up another Marion score.
