PBL Grants Mid-Michigan a Suspension of Operations

February 25, 2009 - Premier Basketball League (PBL) News Release

Chicago, Il...The PBL has granted Mid-Michigan the right to suspend operations for the remainder of the season.

"There is a dispute in the ownership group along philosophical lines as to the operating costs involved with Mid Michigan" stated CEO Tom Doyle. "At this juncture we thought it best that the differences be resolved and that Mid- Michigan return next season with a restructured organization that are cohesive and in agreement on all aspects of operating a PBL team. The PBL schedule will be reworked to allow for the suspension to take place and all games will be played by the remaining teams"

"Certainly we do not like to have to make this type of decision but it is the best interest of the PBL and Mid-Michigan to do so," said Dr. Sev Hrywnak PBL Chairman of the Board. "Despite this announcement we are very pleased with all of the tremendous positives that are occurring in the PBL this season; from record attendance at venues, to our @SPORTSTV television deal and the soon to be announced foreign expansion."

The league office will release the final schedule this week.
