Jim Fassel to Coach UFL Las Vegas Entry
by Fran Stuchbury
February 2, 2009 - United Football League (UFL 1)
UFLAccess contributor Fran Stuchbury reports this afternoon that Jim Fassel will be the first Coach of the Las Vegas entry into the United Football League. The news comes from what Stuchbury deems a reliable source and comes several weeks after Sports Illustrated's Peter King reported that Fassel was a likely choice for the UFL.
Fassel coached seven seasons for the New York Giants, having a record of 58-53-1. His best season was in 2000 when he lead the Giants to a 12-4 record and took them to Super Bowl XXXV. They went on to lose to the Baltimore Ravens 34-7.
The announcement for the UFL seems to be coming in the near future as the chatter around the league has increased. The league has stated that some of the facts in the ESPN Radio report were wrong without clarifying what was correct or incorrect, so we here at UFLAccess eagerly await the announcement so that all of the facts are out in the open. Check in with our forums for more rumors and news in the near future.
