Huntsville Stars News Release

For those with kids in the Huntsville Little League, this season's Opening Ceremonies for the Huntsville Little League with pre-game parade will be held on Saturday, April 17th. Once again The Orthopedic Center (TOC) is the official sponsor of this annual event. Make sure you have it down on your calendar! The Little Leaguers will be on the field thru the National Anthem.

This past fall we conducted a jersey auction. We still have some game-worn jerseys available if you're interested; just call 256-882-2562. We also have one reader who wishes to get in contact with a couple other jersey bidders. Tom Wondra and Jonathan Byrd: please email Matt Zook at brewergamer28@yahoo.com.

Some of our staff ran into some former Huntsville Stars players this weekend in Milwaukee. We'll get some photos up on the website tomorrow. Omar Aguilar, Mat Gamel, Angel Salome, Manny Parra, Carlos Villanueva, Yovani Gallardo, Ryan Braun and a few others were signing autographs and hanging out for the Brewers annual winter event.

Homer the Polecat mixed it up with Fang, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers mascot, and when the Racing Sausages showed up, it was mascot heaven for all the kids in attendance.

Highlights of the weekend included JJ Hardy playing the eligible bachelor in the Brewers version of The Dating Game on stage at the Riverside Theatre; Prince Fielder's short-and-sweet response to a question asking how he felt to sign a new deal with the Brewers and a bunch of one-liners by Bob Uecker that are timeless.

The Huntsville Stars subscribed some Brewers fan for this newsletter, so for those of you receiving this newsletter for the first time, welcome aboard.

We're down to 72 days and a wake-up until the Huntsville Stars 2009 season begins. Trainer Dave Yeager has been prepping the training room getting ready to head west. Pitching Coach John Curtis and his wife, Mary Ann, stopped by. You can feel baseball season just around the corner, and after the Super Bowl is over this weekend there's nothing on the sports schedule except Pitchers and Catcher reporting. For you three NASCAR fans reading this, I know, I know, you keep telling me it's a sport. Four left turns, repeat as necessary or until somebody tells you to stop. Do a backflip and drink milk. For everybody else, you know what I mean: It's almost baseball season!

Season Ticket Holders, we're going to begin production this weekend on your league-wide season ticket holder card. This is the card that will get you into all Huntsville Stars road games. Every team in the league has signed on and, with a few minor exceptions based on holidays and available seats, you're going to get in free to all 2009 Huntsville Stars road games! Another reason why season tickets are the best deal in town. Don't take my word for it, get out a calculator and do the math!

We still have a couple of skyboxes remaining for the season. These are also season tickets, so when you purchase a season-long sky-box you will receive a season ticket holder card for 10 tickets that you will be able to present at visiting stadiums for free admission. Skyboxes are $6,000 for the season (70 home games), or only $85.72 per game. There's nowhere else in Huntsville that you can take 10 people for entertainment for only 85 bones. If you're a business owner it's now time to think about rewarding clients, customers, employees and family/friends. You can't beat the price; it's five months worth of fun. If you're interested please call (256) 882-2562 tomorrow and get all the information. Skybox patrons receive free popcorn, two free parking passes, have guaranteed outdoor seats as well, and receive all the giveaway items. There's more to the package, so if you're interested, make that call.

Cardinals by six.
