SOMERSET, NJ (Nov. 18, 2008) - Sky Blue Soccer officially announced today the hiring of Joe Dorini to serve as the Director of the Sky Blue Soccer School. In addition to overseeing the educational branch of the Sky Blue Soccer organization, Dorini will also serve as the Team Administrator for Sky Blue FC - the NJ/NY entry into Women's Professional Soccer.

Dorini joins Sky Blue Soccer from West Virginia, where he most recently served as the Head Coach and General Manager of the West Virginia Illusion of the W-League. An NSCAA Premier Diploma holder and a USSF Licensed coach, Dorini also worked as the Director of Coaching for the West Virginia United Soccer Club and as the Director of Soccer at ProPerformanceRX in Morgantown, WV.

"I am extremely excited about the opportunity to join Sky Blue Soccer," Dorini said. "The staff here is amazing with regard to their commitment not only to the WPS team, but also to the soccer community. It's going to be a pleasure to work under Ian Sawyers and the rest of the staff."

A former player and assistant coach on the collegiate level at West Virginia Wesleyan College, Dorini will be charged with revamping the Sky Blue Soccer School, which is currently offering a Soccer Education Series for the Winter Indoor season. The new school will feature a predominately female staff and will use the same training methods as Sky Blue FC. The professional training staff will be made up of Sky Blue FC coaches, players and trainers.

"We hope to create the best training and learning environment along while giving young girls role models to look up to," Dorini said. "The future SBS School will include many new programs and an appropriate, comprehensive curriculum based on the professional Sky Blue FC training model. Our female trainers will instill our training philosophy with all youth players and teams that they work with."

Dorini played on the professional level with the Carolina Dynamo and with AS Melfi in Italy and will use that experience as the Team Administrator for Sky Blue FC - a founding member of the Women's Professional Soccer league that will kick off next spring.

"Joe provides the Sky Blue Soccer School with a tremendous vision as well as an enhanced administrative component," said Sky Blue FC General Manager and Head Coach Ian Sawyers. "As the Director of the Sky Blue Soccer School, Joe will provide our female coaches with an appropriate, state-of-the-art soccer curriculum. In addition, his ability to service, evaluate and solicit feedback from our affiliate clubs will help us provide a long-term vision and action plan for their success."
