Home games in Brooklyn and in Hudson Valley this week

Published on November 11, 2008 under Eastern Professional Hockey League (EPHL) News Release

The Eastern Professional Hockey League is only five games into its inaugural 2008-2009 season but the teams in Brooklyn, Danbury, and New Jersey have been greeted by enthusiastic fans, including near capacity crowds in both Brooklyn and in Danbury on their opening nights. This week's EPHL games include the home opener for the Hudson Valley Bears at the Ice Time Sports Complex in Newburgh, New York this coming Saturday night (15th).

Last Week in Review

All four EPHL teams are now in the win column as both the Danbury Mad Hatters and Jersey Rockhoppers were victorious. The Mad Hatters went 1-1 for the week, losing to Brooklyn on Thursday night before defeating the Hudson Valley Bears 6-4 last Saturday night. Say this for the Mad Hatters, don't bet against them scoring first in a game. In each of their first three games, the Mad Hats have tallied first. The Rockhoppers battled the Brooklyn Aces to a 3-2 win on Saturday night. Most observers gave credit to the 'Hoppers goaltender Nick Niedert as the difference in the game, stopping 60 of 62 Brooklyn shots on goal.

Madeiros played last season for the Richmond Renegades (SPHL) and played college hockey at Salem State College.
