Chicago Slaughter to Host Open Tryouts

The Chicago Slaughter of the Continental Indoor Football League, are extending an invitation to athletes, 18 and older, looking to demonstrate their skills and begin a professional football career. The Slaughter is entering their third season in the league and play all home games at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates.

Former Chicago Bears legend and 14 year NFL veteran, Steve Mc Michael, is the head coach and will be joined in 2009 by former team mates, Otis Wilson, Mickey Pruitt, Emery Moorehead Shaun Gayle along with other former NFL players, who will assist Coach Mc Michael with recruiting and evaluating prospective players.

The camps will be held at the Mc Cook Athletic and Exposition Center (The MAX) on Sunday, November 9th from 7:00 AM until noon. The MAX is an indoor, 250,000 square foot facility located at 4750 S. Vernon Avenue in Mc Cook, Illinois. The facility features a large free weight area, meeting rooms, a fully appointed training program and a full concession operation for visitors.

The cost of each free agent camp is $50 per person. Athletes of all skill levels are encouraged to try out and live their dream of becoming a professional football player. "We are excited about offering this once in a lifetime opportunity to these players" said Alan Perkins, general manager of the Slaughter. "It is imperative for our team to look at every prospect that comes our way". "You can never tell where the next great player comes from" he added.
