Premier Basketball League Draft to be held at ESPN Zone in Chicago
September 25, 2008 - Premier Basketball League (PBL) News Release
(Chicago, IL)... The Premier Basketball League (PBL) announced today that the 2009 PBL Draft will be held on October 16, 2008, at the ESPN Zone in downtown Chicago.
Players projected to be first-round draft picks will be flown into Chicago for this gala event. PBL guests will be hosted at the Downtown Chicago Marriott on Michigan Avenue, on Chicago's "Magnificent Mile." The draft will be televised and webcast.
Additionally, a production company will produce a showcase video not only of player selection but in-depth interviews, past highlights as well as insight from the teams on their selections.
"This will be an exciting day for the league and the talented young men who will be selected," commented Chairman of the Board Dr. Severko Hrywnak. "Having the draft broadcast nationally as well as having a full production crew on hand to capture this showcase event will enable us to give unprecedented exposure to these players, the league and our sponsors."
Due to space limitations, as well as the large number of media requests and those from scouts and agents, the PBL requests that those requiring credentials contact the league office 3 days prior to the event to confirm attendance. This will ensure that if approved, credentials and interview requests can be timely accommodated.
Food and drink will be provided to all guests and media in attendance.
Further detailed information on the PBL draft will be released shortly.
