Quad City Riverhawks To Sit Out 2009 Season

September 5, 2008 - Premier Basketball League (PBL) News Release

(Chicago, IL)... The Premier Basketball League announced today that the Quad City Riverhawks will not actively participate in the upcoming PBL season. The Riverhawks will continue to work to solidify their venue as well as continue marketing efforts and plan to participate in the 2010 season.

"It is unfortunate that Quad City will not play this season," stated Premier Basketball League President and Chief Executive Officer Thomas Doyle. "However, we have always stressed to our owners that making smart business decisions regarding all aspects of organizational operations before attempting to play on the court is key to the success of an organization. We have guidelines that all of our teams understand and respect and we appreciate Tom McGinn's recognition of this. Tom is a very good businessman and we look forward to continuing to work with Tom and the Riverhawks."

Premier Basketball League Chairman of the Board Dr. Severko Hrywnak commented, "We look forward to Quad City having an active marketing presence this year and playing basketball again next season in the PBL."
