Velocity To Host Thunder October 11 Tryout
Published on September 3, 2008 under Intense Football League (Intense) News Release
FRISCO, Tex. (September 3, 2008) -- Frisco Thunder head coach Troy Esprit will be looking for both quality and quantity at his first open tryout for the upcoming season on Saturday, October 11 at Velocity Sports Performance -- 7830 N. Central Expressway in Highland Park.
Registration begins at 2:30 p.m. at the Thunder's official testing center, with workouts commencing 30 minutes later. In addition to the tryout, each attendee will receive a voucher for two (2) game tickets for the Thunder's 2009 season and will also be able to review test results on the Nike.com website through the Nike SPARQ program. This allows attendees' results to be viewed not only by the Thunder, but over 60 professional football teams throughout the country.
Though the Thunder qualified for the playoffs for the second consecutive straight year in 2008, injuries took their toll late in the season after a promising 5-2 start.
``I don't plan on ever going through a season like that again,'' Esprit said. ``This tryout will be the start of building a successful team. There are a lot of talented football players in the Dallas-Fort Worth area; it's just a matter of finding the right players for our system.''
Advanced registration is $60 and $65 the day of the camp. This will NOT be a kicking tryout.
