Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Playoff Tickets on Sale

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees News Release


The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees will put tickets for all possible 2008 Governors' Cup playoff games at PNC Field on sale Saturday, August 23rd beginning at 12:00 PM. Fans can also charge tickets with any major credit card by calling the SWB Yankees Box Office at (570) 969-2255 or on line through Ticket Master at www.swbyankees.com Tickets for the 2008 Governors' Cup Semi-Finals and Finals will be on sale for $10.00 per ticket.

The 2008 International League Playoffs (all series are best 3 out of 5) will begin on September 3rd. If the Yankees finish the season in first place in the IL North they would host game three and if necessary games four and five. Game three would take place on September 5 at 7:00 PM, game four on September 6 at 7:00 PM and game five on September 7 at 5:00 PM. If the Yankees finish as the IL wild card entry in the Governors' Cup Playoffs they would host the first two games of the opening round series on September 3 at 7:00 PM and September 4 at 7:00 PM. Gates will open one hour before first pitch of all potential Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees 2008 Governors' Cup playoff games.

If the Yankees win the opening round of the playoffs and advance to the Governors' Cup Finals, the team would be at PNC Field for Games 1 & 2 of the Governors' Cup Finals on September 9 and 10 with both games starting at 7:00 PM.

The winner of the 2008 Governors' Cup will advance to the Bricktown Showdown, the Triple-A Championship Game held in Oklahoma City on September 16th. The Governors' Cup winner plays the champion of the Pacific Coast League playoffs.

The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre box will be open Monday - Friday from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM and during the Yankees final regular season home games at PNC Field, now through Monday, August 25.
