Lancaster JetHawks News Release

(LANCASTER, CA) - The JetHawks managed to spoil another game for an opponent at Clear Channel Stadium. Lancaster scored six times in the bottom half of the eighth inning Friday night as they rallied for an 8-6 win over the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes in front of 2,424 fans. The JetHawks have won a season-best six games in a row at home and four in a row overall. They are ten games above .500 for the first time this year and in first place by three and ½ games in the second half race. Their magic number to clinch the #1 seed in the Southern Division is 17.

Rancho Cucamonga looked in control heading into the JetHawks final at bat, leading 6-2. With one out in the inning, the JetHawks got a single by Jon Still, a double by Michael Jones, and a single by Luis Exposito. Reid Engel's pinch-hit single set up a RBI hit by Luis Segovia. Control problems plagued Quakes reliever Bobby Cassevah, who walked a batter and made a costly wild pitch that tied the game. Yamaico Navarro added a RBI single and the JetHawks completed the rally. Cody McAllister pitched a scoreless ninth for the save.

The JetHawks had led 2-0 in the first inning. Jones' ground ball scored the first run of the game and Exposito had a RBI single. Starting pitcher Chris Jones looked to earn the win after five shutout innings until the bullpen lost the lead.

Navarro continued his torrid hitting for the JetHawks with three hits. His 17-game hit streak is the longest of any JetHawks player this season. Exposito had three hits and two RBI. A missed call by umpire Masaki Nonaka took away what should have been a home run for Exposito as well.

The JetHawks continue a six-game homestand Saturday night against Rancho Cucamonga. Chris Province (5-2) starts for Lancaster while the Quakes counter with Alexander Torres (2-1). The game starts at 7:00 PM. The radio coverage is broadcast live on Magic 1340 AM and online at www.JetHawks.com with the Pre-Game show starting at 6:45.

Aerospace Appreciation Weekend continues with the main event honoring legendary test pilot Bill Dana. Dana will be in attendance at the game and will take part in a pre-game ceremony. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a free bobblehead doll of Dana presented by Edwards Federal Credit Union.

Individual game tickets for all JetHawks home games, including playoff games, are available in person at the JetHawks Box Office Monday - Friday from 10 AM - 5 PM or Saturdays from 10 AM - 3 PM. Great ticket packages for multiple games are also available starting at just $56 for eight games. More information can be found on-line at www.JetHawks.com.
