Lancaster JetHawks News Release

(LAKE ELSINORE, CA) - The Lake Elsinore Storm avoided getting swept by the JetHawks Tuesday night at the Diamond. The Storm scored twice in the first and never looked back in a 7-1 victory. The game was marred by a bench-clearing incident in the seventh inning.

The Storm had already scored four runs in the inning thanks to three walks issued by JetHawks reliever Scott Lonergan. Lake Elsinore third baseman Rayner Contreras was hit by a Lonergan pitch, then charged the mound, throwing a punch at Lonergan along the way. The benches cleared but order was quickly restored by the coaches of both teams. Contreras was ejected, marking the second time he has been thrown out of a game against Lancaster this season.

The contest also marked the first of a three-game rehabilitation assignment with the JetHawks for outfielder Bobby Kielty. The California native, who had a pinch-hit home run for the Red Sox in the World Series last season, will play two more games for Lancaster. He went 0-2 in his first contest, while also drawing a walk and getting hit by a pitch.

Offense was hard to find for the JetHawks. They came up with only three singles in the game. Daniel Nava had one of the hits, extending his hit streak to 14 games. The streak is the longest active hit streak in the California League.

The JetHawks will continue a seven game road trip Wednesday night at Inland Empire. Tony Bajoczky (1-1) starts for Lancaster while the 66ers counter with James Adkins (3-3). The game begins at 7:05 PM. The JetHawks Clubhouse Show on Magic 1340 AM and online at www.JetHawks.com will begin at 5:00. Special guests will include JetHawks manager Chad Epperson, Red Sox outfielder Bobby Kielty, and Stockton manager Darren Bush.

Individual game tickets for all JetHawks home games are available in person at the JetHawks Box Office Monday - Friday from 10 AM - 5 PM or Saturday's from 10 AM - 3 PM. Great ticket packages for multiple games are also available starting at just $56 for eight games. More information is available on-line at www.JetHawks.com.
