
WR Conner Named Special Teams Player of the Week

ODESSA, TX. : Odessa Roughnecks WR and Kick Returner Jimmy Conner (5'11", 190 lbs.) has been named IFL Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 6. Conner returned 5 kicks for 134 yards for an average of 26.8 yards a return against the Frisco Thunder back on Sunday, April 6, 2008 in a 47-46 win.
Conner returned one kick for a 47 yard touchdown and had 1 receiving touchdown all in the first half against the Thunder to help lead the Roughnecks to their first victory of the â08 season. Conner ranks second among Roughnecks wide outs with 10 catches for 134 yards receiving. He leads all Roughnecks wide outs with 4 touchdown receptions and has collected 203 kick return yards on 9 attempts with 1 score.
The former Central Missouri State WR leads the Roughnecks in scoring for the 2008 season with 5 total touchdowns, and in all-purpose yards with 336. Conner averages 112.0 total yards a game and he holds the longest reception of the â08 season for the Roughnecks with a 40 yard touchdown grab back on Sunday, March 30, 2008 against the Alaska Wild. Conner and the Roughnecks return home to face the CenTex Barracudas on Saturday, April 12, 2008. Kickoff is at 7:11 p.m. at Benny Boyd Field.
