AHL Announces Brennan Suspension
May 28, 2007 - American Hockey League (AHL) News Release
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. ... The American Hockey League today announced that Hershey Bears forward Kip Brennan has been suspended for the remainder of the 2007 Calder Cup Playoffs as a result of his actions during Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Final at Manchester on May 23.
Brennan received a gross misconduct at 19:40 of the third period after becoming involved in a confrontation with a spectator.
"While it appears that Mr. Brennan was provoked and that the confrontation was initiated by the spectator, Mr. Brennan has violated our rules by responding." said AHL President and CEO David Andrews.
Brennan will miss the Bears' Calder Cup Final series vs. Hamilton, which begins Friday night in Hershey.
