Edmonton Rush News Release

The Edmonton Rush are welcoming WWE Superstar Chris Benoit back home to the City of Champions this Friday night at Rexall Place.

Benoit, a former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, is one of Edmonton's most recognizable and honoured athletes. He will be the special game co-host along with Yukon Jack and Gillian Foote from 100.3 The Bear when the Rush battle the San Jose Stealth on Friday night. Game time is 7 p.m.

A graduate of Archbishop O'Leary high school, Benoit began his wrestling career in Edmonton under legendary trainer Stu Hart. Benoit also had two of his all-time greatest matches in Edmonton - a spectacular showdown against "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in 2001 and a Triple Threat Wrestlemania Rematch against Triple-H and "HBK" Shawn Michaels at the pay-per-view Backlash in 2004.
