KIMBERLY, Wis. - The very best women's fastpitch softball players in the world will visit Kimberly, Wis. as Cardinal Youth Softball, Inc., reached an agreement to host the National Pro Fast Pitch (NPF) World Championships in 2007, 2008 and 2009.

The NPF is a women's professional softball league that includes six professional teams. The teams include the Washington Glory (Washington, DC), Akron Racers, Chicago Bandits, Philadelphia Force, Rockford Thunder and New England Riptide (Lowell, Ma.).

Many USA Team members play in the NPF including Jennie Finch, Cat Osterman, Amanda Freed and Natasha Watley. In addition, many great college players advance to play in the NPF professional league.

Four of the six teams will earn the right to play in Kimberly based on their regular season performance. The NPF Championship Series will be a double elimination format tournament. Therefore, there will be six guaranteed NPF Championship Series games with a possible seventh. All games will be played at Kimberly's Sunset Point Park lower diamond. Two games will be played on Friday, August 24, Saturday, August 25 and Sunday, August 26. Should the team advancing to the championship game from the loser bracket defeat the team advancing from the winners bracket, another game will be played to decide the champion.

In addition to the scheduled games, Cardinal Youth Softball is planning an interactive fan zone deemed Softball City. Softball City will include interactive games such as speed pitch, batting cages and much more. Additionally, softball equipment manufactures will showcase their products and allow softball fans and players to test out the equipment.

Tickets for the event will be available for purchase on January, 29, 2007. The tickets will be sold as a weekend package including all games and admission to Softball City. The tickets will cost $35 per person. "We wanted to make sure the tickets remained a reasonable value for softball fans", stated Bryan Menting, President of Cardinal Youth Softball, Inc. Menting added, "at $35 for the weekend, fans are paying less than $6 per game." Tickets can be purchased by visiting the Cardinal Youth Softball, Inc. website at www.cardinalyouthsoftball.com.

The NPF Championship Series will serve as a major fund raising opportunity for Cardinal Youth Softball, Inc. as well as other area non-profit organizations. The event is expected to deliver the Fox Cities over $500,000 in economic impact.
