Huntsville Stars News Release

The Huntsville Stars are proud to announce a new broadcast agreement with WUMP, 730 AM. The all-sports station will carry the team's games for each of the next three seasons, starting with the 2007 season opener against the Mississippi Braves on April 5.

"We are thrilled to join the Cumulus Huntsville lineup. The station does a great job covering local sports at the professional and amateur level and we are pleased to be a part of that", said Stars General Manager Tom Van Schaack. "The Stars would like to continue to strengthen our position as a viable part of the greater Huntsville community and we think "the UMP" and the other stations in the Cumulus group will work with us to help achieve that goal."

The agreement marks the first time in the franchise's 23-year history that the games will be broadcast on 730 AM.

"Our mission with our group of stations is to stay involved with the community and the addition of the Huntsville Stars to WUMP will keep us on target for that mission. I believe the Stars are an important part of the fabric of our community. To say the least, we are excited about this opportunity and look forward to a long relationship with the team", said Bill West, the Vice President/Market Manager of Cumulus Huntsville, which also owns and operates WYZP 104.3 FM, WHRP 94.1FM/93.3FM and WVNN AM/FM 770AM/92.5FM.

Brett Pollock will return for his third season as the lead play-by-play voice on all 140 broadcasts and will be joined during home games by Bryan Neece, who will be calling the action for a fourth season.
