Battle Creek Crunch News Release

Freelance writer Ted Kluck, who has written a number of articles and columns for ESPN.com, has reached an agreement with the Great Lakes Indoor Football League (GLIFL) and the Battle Creek Crunch to play for the team in 2006. The ESPN.com website has agreed to let Kluck write three articles on his first season playing professional football.

Kluck does have playing experience in many areas of the football world. He received a football scholarship to play for the Taylor (IN) University Trojans, a team that plays in NAIA competition. He's also played at the semipro football level with the Lansing Lightning, the Jackson Bombers, and the Delaware County (IN) Thunder. Kluck has played as a linebacker, tight end and a long snapper for all of those teams.

Kluck's writing experience includes the release of his first book, "Facing Tyson", which will be published by Lyons Press. His articles have been released through ESPN.com's Page 2, ESPN The Magazine, Cyberboxingzone.com, Sports Spectrum Magazine and Cigar Magazine. Kluck's "Pro and Con" column in the Sports Spectrum Magazine, was worthy enough for a national award in 2002.

Kluck's first article for ESPN.com is expected to be released around mid-December, following the open tryouts for the Crunch in Kalamazoo on December 3rd. If you would like to reach Ted Kluck for interviews and comments, call the Battle Creek Crunch office at (269) 965-1600, or Nathan Adams, Director of Media Relations, at (269) 986-9011.
