October 6, 2015 - BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Birmingham Barons starting second baseman, Joey DeMichele, was recently named as the Rawlings Gold Glove Award recipient by Minor League Baseball and Rawlings Sporting Goods Company, Inc. During the 2015 season, DeMichele registered a .985 fielding percentage in 135 games. The fourth year pro out of Arizona State University recorded 665 total chances and was part of 91 double plays. September 9, 2015 - BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - During the 2015 Barons season, VisionFirst Eye Center donated $100 to Sight Savers America for every Barons home run at Regions Field. Through 70 home games, the Barons hit 35 home runs at Regions Field during the season. Fans were also given an opportunity to donate to the charity while attending the games.
