Zephyrs Fall to Sounds, 3-1

The New Orleans Zephyrs fell to the visiting Nashville Sounds on Tuesday by a score of 3-1.

Relief pitcher Steve Bray (5-1) got the win after allowing one run on two hits in 3.1 innings of play. Nashville starter Elmer Dessens, on a rehab assignment, went 2.2 innings and allowed no runs on only three hits.

Dessens also provided all the offense for the Sounds, as they scored all their runs on a three-RBI double by Dessens in the second inning.

Zephyrs starting pitcher Mike Pelfrey (2-3) gets the loss after giving up three hits, including the double to Dessens, in six innings.

Left fielder Marlon Anderson led the Zephyrs offensively, going 2-4 in the game.

With the series even at 1-1, the teams will play again on Wednesday in a game scheduled for 7:00 PM CT.
