Zayde Wisdom Made AHL Debut

February 9, 2021 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL) - Kingston Frontenacs News Release

The American Hockey League (AHL) returned to action over the weekend and one of our own was in the lineup for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Zayde Wisdom was able to sport his Phantoms jersey for the first time on Saturday, February 6. He made his AHL debut against the Hershey Bears.

Zayde registered 2 shots on goal and he was consistently praised by the play-by-play announcers for using his physicality throughout the game. Overall it was a solid debut by Zayde and his team left Hershey, Pennsylvania with a 2-1 overtime victory.

In his debut, Zayde became the youngest player in Phantoms franchise history to play in a game. At 18 years, 6 months and 30 days he is 20 days younger than when Derek Mathers debuted with the Adirondack Phantoms in March, 2012.
