Yankees break out the offense in 7-5 win

The Battle Creek Yankee bats came alive as they defeated the West Michigan Whitecaps 7-5 on Monday night at C.O. Brown Stadium. Estee Harris and Tommy Rojas each slugged two-run homers to pace the Yankees.
After West Michigan got out to an early 2-0 lead Battle Creek took the lead with a three-run third inning - highlighted by Melky Cabrera's two-run double.
West Michigan regained the lead in the top half of the fourth, but Harris blasted a fastball over the right field wall to regain the lead at 5-4. Battle Creek added two more runs in the sixth when Rojas' shot sailed over the right-center field wall for a 7-4 lead.
Steven Wiseman (1-1) pitched 1.2 innings in relief to earn his first win of the season. Paul Thorp pitched the final 1.1 innings to earn his fifth save of the season.
The win raises Battle Creek's overall record to 8-10. The Yankees will close out the series Tuesday afternoon with a noon start against the Whitecaps, Abel Gomez (0-0, 2.25) will square off against Brian Rogers (0-1, 2.95).
