Quick hits

- The Wranglers picked up the weekend split against the Ice Wolves last weekend. Amarillo has now gotten at least one point in five out of six games on this homestand.

- In Saturday's game, the Wranglers got 25 shots on goal in the sec- ond period. The 25 shots in a single period is a franchise-high.

- Defenseman Pierce Patterson tallied two goals last weekend against New Mexico. Both goals came on the power play.

- Amarillo kept the Ice Wolves' power play off the board. The Ice Wolves came into the weekend with the fourth-best power play in the league and went 0-for-5 against Amarillo.

- Carter Clafton out-dueled NM goalie William Craig with a 30-save outing in the 3-to-1 win Saturday night.

- Over 3,600 fans filled the Bullpen Saturday night in the return of NYE hockey, a Lindsey Lane performance before the game, and a three-song set in the first intermission.

- The 10-game homestand continues this weekend with a matchup against the Oklahoma Warriors.

Storylines

- special teams victory : The Wranglers' special team units played a significant role in the series against New Mexico. The Wranglers' penalty kill unit is ranked third in the NAHL and held the New Mexico power play off the board. The Ice Wolves went 0-for-5 on the power play, while the Wranglers went 3-for-7 on the power play.

- home cooking : After the weekend split, the Wranglers have gotten points in five out of six games during the current homestand. Sat- urday night was the first win over the Ice Wolves this season, and the Wranglers are now 8-4-1-1 on home ice. After a crowd of 3,641 Saturday night, the Wranglers are now 3rd in NAHL attendance this season. Four of the top five teams in attendance are in the South Division.
