Wotherspoon, Sceviour Ink NHL Tryout Offers

Portland, Ore. - Two former Winterhawks have inked professional tryout offers (PTO) with NHL clubs this week, as both Tyler Wotherspoon and Colton Sceviour have found new homes.

Wotherspoon, 28, will attend training camp with the New Jersey Devils to begin the season. The defenseman played in Portland from 2008-2013 before becoming a second round draft selection (#57 overall) by the Calgary Flames. Through nine professional seasons, the native of Surrey, British Columbia has played a total of 463 games split between the NHL and AHL.

Sceviour, 32, signed on the dotted line with the Edmonton Oilers Wednesday. From 2004-07, Sceviour was a forward in the 'Hawks lineup and in the 2007 NHL Draft he was selected by the Dallas Stars (#112 overall). The upcoming campaign will be the 13th of Sceviour's career, playing with Florida and Pittsburgh since his departure from the Stars organization in 2016.
