Wolves Make it 14-in-a-Row with Win Over Dashers

With a lock on second seed in the Federal Hockey League Commissioner's Cup playoffs, Trevor Karasiewicz and his looked to extend their current win streak straight to the end of the regular Federal Hockey League in Friday night's game against the Danville Dashers.

Nicola Levesque got the Wolves on the board just ten seconds into the game with a goal from Gavin Yates's deflected shot on goal. Danville tied things up with a goal from Vincent Caligiuri seven minutes into the first period. Tensions had boiled over in the next minute resulting in three separate altercations in the same second. Watertown's CJ Hayes and Danville's Christian Whitcomb initiated the fighting. Danville Goalie Matt Kaludis jumped in on their fight prior to going toe-to-toe with Watertown's Sebastien Dube-Rochon in center-ice goalie fight. Once it appeared everything was settled down Danville's Alex Basey and Watertown's Justin Coachman tangled it up center ice also. The Wolves would surge in the final minutes of the period with Gavin Yates scoring back to back goals less than thirty seconds apart. League-leading scorer Tyler Gjurich extended the score to 4-1 Watertown with a short-handed goal in the final minute of the period.

Each team added a goal to their totals in the second period. John Scully scored Watertown's on a power play from Justin Brausen's slashing penalty. Danville's goal came from Daniel Martin on an assist from Michael Dolman.

Danville tried to get back in the game early in the third period with a goal from Justin Brausen. Tyler Gjurich added his second goal of the night via John Scully to extend the Wolves lead back to three goals. Danville's Jimmy Soper scored one final goal on the night before the Wolves held on to their 6-4 lead for the remainder of the game.

Gavin Yates earned the first star of the game with two goals and an assist. Two goals on the night earned Tyler Gjurich the second star of the game while John Scully's goal and assist awarded him the third star.

The Wolves are back in action against the Danville Dashers on Saturday, March 31st at the Watertown Municipal.
