Sporting Kansas City News Release
(July 10, 2007) - After a successful "Salute Our Heroes Night" on July 1, the Kansas City Wizards are proud to announce another opportunity to thank our heroes in uniform. Beginning with the home match July 14 against Real Salt Lake at 7 p.m. CT at Arrowhead Stadium, the Wizards will offer 50 percent off reserved seating for military personnel and their families.
"The Kansas City Wizards have the utmost respect for active military personnel and reservists," Vice President of Sales Todd Adams said. "This is just one more service we can provide to the men and women who sacrifice so much for us on a daily basis."
When a member of the military displays his or her military identification card, they will be able to buy a $10 reserved ticket* for themselves and members of their immediate family. This offer is good only on game days at the Arrowhead Stadium box office. Wearing a military uniform to the game is not required to receive the discount.
"By providing these discounted tickets to our military personnel, we want to continue to show our appreciation to service men and women and their families," Business Relations Manager Mark Naster said. "It also gives families of military personnel the opportunity to get away from the pressures and stress of daily life by enjoying the family-friendly atmosphere of a Kansas City Wizards match."
Through the generous donations of the Greater Kansas City business community, the Tickets for Troops program will continue to provide tickets, when available, to family members of currently, recently deployed and active duty military personnel. So far this season, the Kansas City Wizards have distributed over 1,500 tickets through the Tickets for Troops program to military personnel in the Kansas City area. Service men and women at Whiteman Air Force Base, Ft. Leavenworth, area National Guard units, and regional Marine Corps facilities have received tickets thus far.
*Tickets for the Los Angeles Galaxy game on September 27th will be $25.00 based on availability
