Dallas Wings News Release
The Dallas Wings (2-4) see the Atlanta Dream Saturday, August 8 at 11 a.m. on ESPN2 for the first rematch of the 2020 WNBA season. Atlanta topped the Wings 105-95 in the season opener for both squads. Arike Ogunbowale and Allisha Gray both chipped in 19 points and were followed by 18 from Isabelle Harrison in the matchup back on July 26.
Dallas' bench, first-year players and Arike Ogubnowale have been the continued stories since these two squads last matched up. The Wings reserves are leading the league at a clip of 33.3 points per game (200 points total) and have scored 30 in every game but one this season. This comes after the Wings bench only scored 30 or more eight times last season and averaged just 19.8 points a game.
Satou Sabally is the leading rookie board grabber at 6.2 per game and the third leading scorer (12.0), Bella Alarie is logging 1.3 blocks a game, the most of rookies that have appeared in more than two games and Tyasha Harris has the best assist to turnover ratio of rookies that have played in more than three games at 6.0, and she is averaging the third most assists (4.2) amongst rookies and the 10th most in the league overall.
Ogunbowale has kept her streak of 15 or more alive for 17 straight games. It's the longest such active streak in the WNBA and hasn't been done since Candace Parker strung together 19 games from 9/15/2013 to 07/08/2014. Her 21-game streak of accumulating 10 or more is also the second longest active run.
