Wings Overseas Roundup - December 3

December 3, 2019 - Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) - Dallas Wings News Release

Arike Ogunbowale

OGM Ormanspor started last week by losing their first Eurocup game of the year to Polkowice 75-55 in which Ogunbowale scored seven points in limited minutes. She returned to form on the last day of the month versus Cankaya in an 82-76 victory, dropping 24 points to go along with two rebounds and two assists. The former Notre Dame standout has led her team to a 10-2 start overseas.

Imani McGee-Stafford

McGee-Stafford suffered an ankle injury in the Lynx's 97-79 loss to the Bendigo Spirit on 10/20/19. An MRI revealed ligament damage and she will be unable to play for the upcoming week.

Megan Gustafson

Gustafson and NKE-FCSM Csata defeated AKSC Szekszard 71-66, going 3-8 from the field for nine points to go along with eight rebounds, a block and an assist. The Harrowing Hawkeye scored less than ten points for the first time since playing overseas on limited shot attempts but continued to dominate the glass on both the offensive and defensive end of the floor, bolstering her team to a 7-2 record.

Karlie Samuelson

While the temperature has cooled off, Samuelson continues to stay red hot from behind the arc, proving there are three certainties in life: death, taxes and a Samuelson three. Perfumerias defeated Olivais Coimbra 92-49 to remain undefeated in Eurocup play (5-0) in which the scintillating shooter from Stanford dropped four from beyond the arc in a 16-point outing. She also scored nine points against Promete in a 66-57 win, going 1-2 from deep to extend her streak of made threes to 17 and swiping 3 steals.

Kayla Thornton

Thornton established herself as a front-runner to win Foreign Player of the Year again after racking up a double-double with 24 points and 15 rebounds versus Shinhan Bank in an 87-75 victory before having her second 30+ point performance by scoring 31 in a 77-68 victory at KEB Hanabank, going 4-8 from three and grabbing another eight rebounds.
