Dallas Wings News Release

The Dallas Wings (6-11) battle the Minnesota Lynx (12-5) Friday, September 4. The game can be viewed on Facebook at 7 p.m. CT.

The matchup pits two Rookie of the Year front runners against each other, with the Wings' Satou Sabally and the Lynx's Crystal Dangerfield. Dangerfield and Sabally rank two and three in rookie scoring, 15.8 and 13.0 respectively, and Sabally ranks first in rookie rebounding (8.1), first in blocks per game (1.0) and has five double-doubles, the only rookie with more than one this season. Sabally also leads all rookies with 50 free throw attempts and is the only rookie to rank in the top three of minutes played per game, points per game and rebounds per game.

The Wings offense is led by MVP Candidate Arike Ogunbowale, who has been a staple on the WNBA's top 10 scorers list for over a year now and is currently the league's leading scorer, averaging 21.7 points per game. However, Ogunbowale has done more than just carry the team's scoring load as she has also had five or more assists in four of the Wings last five games and leads the team in assists per game.
