Wings' Greenhalgh Receives NLL's Bowflex Sportsmanship Award
May 1, 2006 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Philadelphia Wings News Release
The NLL named Philadelphia Wings forward Sean Greenhalgh as the recipient of their 2006 Bowflex Sportsmanship Award. Greenhalgh's leadership and character helped lead the Wings to an 8-8 finish, two games better than their 2005 season record. The Cornell University graduate also led all rookies in scoring this season with 73 points (21G, 52A) and was tied for tenth in overall league scoring while only being assessed a total of four penalty minutes.
"Sean is a special young man," said Wings Owner and President Russ Cline. "He plays at the highest level, always respecting those he plays with and against. He will continue to make a positive impact on this league and the sport of lacrosse for years to come."
Greenhalgh was named the NLL's Player of the Week twice and received five Rookie of the Week Awards during the 2006 season. The St. Catharine's, ON native was drafted by the Wings in the first round (3rd overall) in the 2005 NLL Entry Draft.
