
White Sox Name Jeff Manto New Hitting Coach

The Chicago White Sox have announced that Buffalo Baseball Hall of Famer and Bisons Modern Era Home Run King JEFF MANTO is the club's new hitting coach. Manto will serve under new White Sox's manager, Robin Ventura.
Manto, 47, has served as the White Sox minor league hitting coordinator for each of the past four seasons.
Manto played four seasons with the Bisons from 1997-2000 and helped the club to back-to-back league championships in 1997 and 1998. He is the only player in the modern era to have his number retired by the club and was inducted into the Buffalo Baseball Hall of Fame in 2003.
Manto is the Bisons modern era Home Run King with 79 homers in 276 games with the team. He also ranks in the top five in RBI (3rd -207), on-base percentage (1st, .405) and slugging percentage (2nd -.579) since the team's return to Triple-A baseball.
