WGCM Returns as Flagship Station for Biloxi Shuckers Radio Network

March 22, 2019 - Southern League (SL) - Biloxi Shuckers News Release

BILOXI, MS - The Biloxi Shuckers are happy to announce that Cruisin' WGCM-AM will return as the flagship station for a fifth season in 2019. All 140 Shuckers games, home and road, along with the Southern League All-Star Game and the Shuckers' exhibition game against William Carey will be broadcast live on 1240 AM and 100.9 FM.

"Our partnership with Coast Radio has been one of the cornerstones of the Shuckers since the franchise started and we're thrilled to carry on that tradition," said Media Relations Manager and Broadcaster Garrett Greene. "Working with a locally owned radio group is important to us and fans will be able to set their radio to the same place to hear all the Shuckers action again this season."

Broadcasts will begin 15 minutes prior to first pitch and will include a postgame show, featuring scores and news from around the Brewers' Minor League system, the Southern League and Major League Baseball. The 2019 Southern League All-Star Game, held at MGM Park on June 18, will also be broadcast on Cruisin' WGCM, with the best talent in the Southern League on display in Biloxi.

"At Coast Radio Group we're entering our fifth year of partnership with the Biloxi Shuckers and looking forward to another fun season," said Operations Manager Bryan Rhodes "We're proud to be able to bring live game coverage on WGCM AM 1240, 100.9 FM, our affiliates and our radio app, especially at a time when many Minor League Baseball markets are unable to provide radio coverage. Be on the lookout for more promotions and fun on our sister stations Kicker108, Coast102, and 95.3 Gorilla, too!"

Garrett Greene begins his second season as the Voice of the Biloxi Shuckers and his fourth in professional baseball. Greene previously worked with the rookie-level Helena Brewers and the St. Paul Saints of the American Association. Andrew Chapman will join Greene on the play-by-play for home games and select road games and will host the pregame and postgame shows all season. Chapman enters his first year with the Shuckers and second in professional baseball after working with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes in the California League in 2018.
