BRIDGEPORT, CT - The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, defeated the Grand Rapids Gold 103-94, Sunday afternoon at Total Mortgage Arena.

Following a four-game absence, James Akinjo (affiliate) registered a game-high 27 points, five assists and four rebounds. He shot 9-15 from the field, made three three-pointers and went 4-4 from the line. Melvin Frazier Jr. (trade) chipped in 18 points and 10 boards off the bench. Two-Way Player DaQuan Jeffries scored 14 points. Garrison Brooks (affiliate) contributed a double-double made up of 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Grand Golden led the Gold (4-10) again with 18 points and 10 boards. Kellan Grady recorded 16 points as a reserve. Chasson Randle's seven assists led Grand Rapids.

The Knicks (4-7) trailed by five after one, 29-24, and outscored the Gold 31-25 in the second period having the slight one-point edge 55-54 at the break. Frazier and Trevon Duval both scored 15 through the first two periods to pace the Knicks and Gold, respectively.

Both teams played evenly in the third with each club scoring 20 points. Akinjo erupted in the final quarter and shot a perfect 4-4 from the floor and 2-2 from distance equaling 10 points to keep the energy in the Knicks' favor. Westchester's 13-6 run in the four minutes of the game proved successful and the team avenge Friday's setback with a nine-point win.

The Knicks travel to Lakeland tomorrow, January 30 for a 7 PM ET matchup.
