Weekend Preview (Week 10)
The Fargo Force, the top team in the Western Conference, (14-6-2-0; 30pts.) take on the third ranked Des Moines Buccaneers (10-9-2-0; 24pts.) this Friday and Saturday at Scheels Arena in Fargo.
The last series between these two teams was mid-December at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. The Force came away with a big 5-3 win in night one, scoring two goals in the first and three in the third. Night two went into overtime and the Buccaneers ultimately came away with the 2-1 win, but the Force came away with 3 out of 4 points on the weekend.
Jeremy Davidson is currently leading the Force in points (7G-15A-22P) and averaging a point a game. He's ranked 8th in the USHL in both overall points and assists. Tristan Broz (6G-13A-19P) and Jake Braccini (7G-10A-17P) are also top scorers for Fargo. Point leaders for the Buccaneers include Matt Choupani (10G-8G-18P) currently 7th in the league in total goals and Lucas Mercuri (5G-11A-16P).
Friday: Tyler Rollwagen (12)
Rollwagen is a forward from Bloomington, MN. He was picked by the Force in this year's dispersal draft after the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders announced they would not be playing the 2020-21 season. Rollwagen has been a key player in Fargo's line up so far this season. He is tied with five other Force players for most goals on the team at 7, and he's played in every game so far this season. He contributes in all 3 zones, is a very good penalty killer, and he is proving to be a valuable piece of the Force offence. Rollwagen is committed to the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
Saturday: Michael Suda (25)
Suda is a defenseman from Cheektowaga, NY. He is another former RoughRider picked by Fargo in the dispersal draft last September. Suda has helped hold down the Fargo defense with his strong, physical checking game.
