Milwaukee Wave News Release

Love was in the air at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena Sunday afternoon but it wasn't enough as your Six-Time Champion MKE Wave took on the arch rival Missouri Comets and suffered a 7-2 loss.

"To lose back to back games at home is very frustrating," said Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero. "We have a lot to work on before next Sunday's game vs Chicago and definitely need to put on a better show for our hometown crowd."

Despite the loss there was some good news as Neenah, Wisconsin's very own #29 Stuart Grable scored his first goal of his professional career.

"It feels great to get on the scoreboard but it would have been a lot better if we got the win," said Grable.

Despite being held scoreless in the first quarter, the Comets scored three unanswered tallies via #14 Leo Gibson and two goals from #9 Bryan Perez to end the half 3-1 in favor of Missouri.

After halftime, the Wave were denied on multiple occasions by Comets goalkeeper #27 Boris Pardo and throughout the third. However, MKE Wave midfielder #26 Ian Bennett shortened the lead after 8:20 before the Comets forward #6 Max Touloute notched his first goal of the game to make it 4-2.

The fourth and final quarter saw the Comets once again find the back of the net three times in a row. #10 Lucas Rodriguez made it a three-goal game at the 7:50 mark before #6 Max Touloute completed his hat trick with two empty-net tallies to end the match 7-2.

The MKE Wave look to get back to their winning ways next Sunday, February 21st, 2:05pm at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena as the rival Chicago Mustangs come to town in a possible playoff preview.
