Milwaukee Wave News Release

MILWAUKEE, WI (February 24, 2006) - The Milwaukee Wave is teaming up with Ethan Zohn and the stars of reality television for charity events to fight HIV/AIDS surrounding two Wave games the weekend of March 17-19, 2006.

Ethan Zohn, Survivor Africa winner, and several of his castaway friends will be joined by Wave legends Victor Nogueira, Art Kramer, Peter Knezic and Steve Morris for a Reality Stars and Wave legends soccer match after the Wave take on the Philadelphia KiXX on Sunday, March 19 - Keith Tozer bobble-head night. The Survivor winner and Jenna Morasca will also be on hand as the Wave take on the Chicago Storm on Friday, March 17. Friday's game will also feature a jersey (green, for St. Patrick's Day) auction where all the proceeds will go to the Children's Hospital.

Funds for Zohn's global AIDS organization, Grassroot Soccer, will also be raised as part of a dinner and silent auction hosted by and held at Miller Brewing Company on Saturday, March 18. The dinner will be held in Fred's Pub at Miller Brewing Company from 7:00-10:00 p.m. and will feature food, beverages and the opportunity to mingle with the reality stars. Miller will also host a VIP reception for guests who wish to meet the stars in a smaller setting as well as having photos taken with them. Tickets and information for both events are available by calling the Milwaukee Wave ticket office (414-224-9283) or stopping by the Miller Visitor Center (425 W State St.) or Saz's (5539 State St.). In addition to the silent auction and dinner, funds will also be raised as part of a youth soccer clinic held at the U.S. Cellular Arena.

Grassroot Soccer is a nonprofit 501c3 organization whose mission is to mobilize the global soccer community in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Founded by former professional soccer players, Grassroot Soccer trains soccer stars in the world's most HIV affected countries to deliver prevention messages to the kids who revere them. It began as the idea of Ethan Zohn while he was a participant on the CBS television show Survivor Africa. He witnessed, first hand, the devastation of HIV/AIDS while filming the show and told fellow cast members if he won the million dollar prize, he would do something "good" with the money. He has remained true to his word.

At this time, castaways scheduled to attend all events are: Ethan Zohn, Tom "Big Tom" Buchanan, Chad Crittenden, Chris Doherty, Rudy Boesch, Bobby John Drinkard, Jenna Morasca, Ian Rosenberger, Leann Slaby, Lex Van den Berghe, Julie Barry, Jennifer Lyon and Tina Wesson. More favorites are sure to be present.
