December 29, 2017 - United States Hockey League (USHL) - Omaha Lancers News Release

Ralston, NE -- The Omaha Lancers returned to the ice Thursday night to face the Waterloo Black Hawks. This was the first meeting between these two teams. The Lancers came into the match continuing their winning streak (8 games) and with a 13-7-1 record. The Lancers also sat in fourth place in the Western Conference with 27 points. Waterloo came into Thursday nights game with a 12-9-1-1 record, 26 points and one spot behind the Lancers in the standings.

The Lancers welcomed new faces to Thursday nights lineup with the additions of Mathieu De St. Phalle (F), Steven Agriogianis (F) and Ryan Naumovski (F).

Late in the first period, Garrett Wait capitalized on the power play to give the Black Hawks a 1-0 lead heading into the first intermission.

Late in the second period, Waterloo got on the board again when Jackson Cates scored to give the Black Hawks a 2-0 lead.

Waterloo sealed the win with an open net goal scored by Ben Copeland and a final score of 3-0.

Zach Driscoll stopped 22 of 25 Waterloo shots that he faced.
